We had a good turn up today for our mid week fly in & BBQ with 6 in attendance.
We were joined by Peter (a mate of Kermit’s – who’d have thought he had any?). Pete has spent many years building control line & RC planes but never got around to learning how to fly them so today was the day he chose to finally learn.
He did his first 10 minute stint on the Buddy Box flying the Bixler 2 Sport and by his second stint he was flying it solo and just relying on the iNav FC system to keep him out of trouble. In total almost 30 minutes of flying time and the Bix 2 escaped unscathed, Well done Peter, looking forward to your next visit.
Andrew was flying one of his larger gliders (after he reprogrammed his radio that is) and his Large Cessna as well. Gerald was playing with his FPV RC 4WD LandCruiser but did also find time for a bit of flying.
Kermit was up to his usual tricks & after quite a bit of uneventful flying he did finally manage to break one. Nothing a bit of glue & tape won’t fix eh Mr Frog?
Phil had his Freedom & his Bixler 3 up and about for many uneventful flights however I did spot one very average landing (but if its not on video it didn’t happen eh Phil).
I started off the day with an uneventful FPV flight with the Blanik Glider, followed by a fast flight with the Excalibur V2. After lunch when the morning wind has dropped to almost nothing there was another FPV flight with the Blanik & then I finished off with putting another battery through the Excalibur V2.
All in all a very successful day for all involved.
Once again thanks Kermit for the BBQ lunch (can’t beat Roadkill Stew).
We packed up around 14:30 just as the wind came back & the fine day started to cool.

Kermit, congratulations’ finally a high-quality jitter free enjoyable video, well done.
Whoever helped you set up your computer did a great job.
I didn’t even fall asleep watching it.
But if I was giving out awards, sorry it would have to go to Andy’s video, much better content than yours.
P.S. you might need to get some flying tips from Peter, I believe he spent more time in the air than you did, and didn’t crash once!……………Just sayn
