Ahoy there,
The low water was a sight to behold.
Below the cloudy and coldish morning was our intrepid bunch of sailors.
Parking was at a premium and some locals were confused about how it should be done!.
Arriving at the canal was Bill and Jeremy and Maggie. Already there was Stuart, Gerald and Scott.
Then Wayne drew up and joined the banter.
Bill and Jeremy and daughter Maggie, took off on a jaunt down the Canal past the wharf to distant places.
Their boats hurried ahead of them.
At the beach Stuart launched his favoured orange launch assisted by Scott who placed it in the water.
Wayne launched his Jenny and showed its style on the water.
Bob arrived and a fast launch was soon racing up and down the approaches to the beach.
Kerry came along and watched Bob’s effort.
Arriving in their speedy red car were the Roberts in a hurry to discuss their disappointment with the Collingwood show.
Wayne was amused.
Scott was able to put his Amber launch amid the canal boats and Barbie was on hand to steer Amber along.
Gerald was without his trusty camera so there is no video this week.
Peter, using the tree stump as a preparation centre, set up his smart looking launch ready to plunge into the canal waters.
Meanwhile the banter crowd was all that kept some, including me, watching.
The morning seemed to get colder and the sun was absent.
Please welcome our new member, although I understand he was a member some years back, Mark Williams.
He has a large model of his fathers boat with and inboard petrol engine, Vicki, which has been seen at the canal in recent weeks.
Welcome aboard Mark.
We shall be starting our new round of BBQ’s for the new season on 8/11/25.
Garry will be our chef as usual and I encourage you to attend and join the fun!
We can now boast a fully financial membership of 14 members , most of which are regular attendees.
Whilst I have had problems copying and attaching photos to Canal Waters I believe I have found the way and photos are attached.
Looking forward to Saturday we are promised a low water at 7.26am of 0.85m which will then start coming in to reach 1.52m at 1.50pm
The wind a Westerly blowing about 22kph could bring one or two showers with a temp range of between 4 to 12.
There you have it cobbers.
Happy Boating to the crew
take care, stay safe
