Ahoy there,
High water still below the point but this did not deter most of the group.
It was a sunny morning but a bit cool.
Into the water with his boat Stuart braced the conditions first.
The walking troupe were off on a circumnavigation of the Canal.
Bill and his trawler, accompanied by Maggie and her pink painted Ziggy, followed by Jeremy and Bunty headed towards the bridge to cross to the other side of the canal and head East.
There was much ado about Vicki in back of Marks car with a newly engined boat requiring attention at the canal.
Meanwhile the rest got on with their jobs and Bob was able to put Amigo into the water and attempt to catch up with the walkers.
Wayne was close by with his blue hulled launch(missed the name) which was soon in the water and performing without a hitch.
Peter again using the tree stump, readied his Blue and white launch for its run on the canal. Taking it all in its stride the launch looked smart.
Neil was approaching the beach with his Helen trawler ready for a search of the waters for any fish.
In attendance, reviewing the scene, Kerry looked on to see what would impress him.
Gerald stood idly by also reviewing the scene.
Scott, being his usual helpful self was involved with Vicki at Mark’s car. Sorting out speed controls, batteries and connections, eventually Mark was able to get Vicki into the water. With a new motor and electrical fittings Vicki was now ready and away she went.
Gerald suddenly had his camera ready to record the scene. As though there had been nothing on the water worth his effort Vicki obviously stirred his whatever into action.
Scott also had his Great Amber, with crew, joining the flotilla, racing back and forth hoping to impress Gerald yet again to film his actions.
Colliding with an intruder yacht Great Amber pushing the visiting yacht out of the way then continued to impress Gerald.
It was getting colder as a breeze had come up and my feet were agitating a move
Just to let you know that I shall not be at the canal this coming Saturday.
I shall be attending Hobart’s model train show at the Kingston Hub, so I may see some of you there?
Here is a video from Gerald. It again stars Scott’s boat Amber and Mark’s Vicki
Saturday’s offering is for high water at 8.58am at 1.08m and a NW wind around 14kph giving a partly cloudy day with temps 8 to 15.
So that it chaps, have fun.
Happy Boating, stay safe and take care
Randall
