Luckily the day turned out pretty much as forecast with no rain & only mild winds and it was almost warm so quite a pleasant day for flying.
We were short of a few Sugar Babies who piked out due to the early morning rain but the 4 that did turn up to fly had an enjoyable time.
As is often the case poor old Kermit didn’t manage to get airborne at all today (primarily flat batteries & crook connection in his Zohd). Didn’t even manage to get the frog parachute jumping today as the battery in the chute dropper was flat.
Andrew flew one of his large gliders (and found a few small thermals) & his Cessna.
Ron primarily flew his 3d printed Zero.
I had the Bix 2 Sport back in the air after a rebuild from several weeks ago, also the Sky Shadow wing & the BumbleBee glider.
For the first time ever I managed to hit the overhead power wires that run across the top of the field, not once but twice, first I came down on top of them & busted the right aileron servo arm then I managed to come back up under them and ripped of several of the vortex generators from the top of the left wing.
Luckily (no doubt due to the flight controller working overtime) the BumbleBee still flew fine and finished off the battery before a successful landing.
Gerald, who piked out earlier due to the morning shower, changed his mind when the sun came out & whilst he didn’t fly he at least dropped in to say hello to everyone.
As noted earlier there was no flying from Kermit but he did quite a bit of filming & as usual dished up a superb BBQ lunch for Andrew & I. (The rest left early & missed out).

Did notice it was turning better in one direction than the other but nothing too dramatic. Anyway all fixed now.
only needed a new servo arm and 4 replacement vortex generators
