Yes it was short notice & a lot of our regular pilots were otherwise engaged but 3 of us turned up to fly today, Kermit, Predator & Hoppy.
Greg (a mate of Hoppy & an RC pilot from way back) also joined us to have a sticky at what we get up to.
For Hoppy it was his first flight @ Sandford since returning a couple of weeks ago from the Phillipines so he was keen to get back in the action and brought a boot full of planes with him today & flew most of them.
Kermit finally found a couple of decent batteries for his Carbon Z Cub and after some minor hiccups managed a successful flight for a change.
I finally managed to maiden my 3D printed Zero and she flew perfectly (maybe slightly nose heavy with the 10gm of lead I added for the maiden flight)
Unfortunately I broke the old prop on landing (a bit too brittle with age) so only got one nice long flight.
Also flew the Bix 2 Sport & the Altus Twin without incident.
After we stopped for the customary BBQ lunch the rain returned so that was the end to flying today.
Hoping for some more settled weather in the very near future.
I forgot my Handicam today so had to resort to using the iPhone but hopefully Kermit got a lot more video than I did.

Here is Kermits epic flight. Half the vertical stabilizer and rudder flew off mid flight but that only seemed to make him fly better. And what a landing. I recommend TGFS to amy newbie pilots.

I was devastated to miss the TGFS performance. It must have been amazing.
I was sooooo upset that I asked Famer Brown if I could fly on Saturday instead.
He said YES.
So a little bit of flying in light winds and warm conditions. And there was even an extra pilot onboard the Boomerang when it landed.
It was lonely without all the stories, but such is life.
A couple of photos to show I was there.
