According to the long range forecast it was supposed to be calm & mild today but that was not what we got. It was rather chilly with the temperature not going over 9 degrees all day.
First order of business today was to extricate my Stearman Biplane from its resting place (for the past almost two weeks) in a very tall tree.
With grateful assistance of Phil, Ron & Kermit and my extension ladder + the telescopic rescue pole we did eventually manage to get it back down to the ground.
The plane is rather worse for wear but at least all the electronics are salvageable.
Then it was on to flying with 6 pilots eventually turning up with an assortment of planes.
By now the wind had abated slightly so flying was OK, just bitterly cold.
We flew till around midday with all 6 planes in the air at times (which makes things interesting) before being treated to one of Kermit’s infamous BBQ’s for lunch.
After lunch everyone decided it was just too damn cold so pack up was called & we headed for warmer environs.

We had a missing pilot fly pass at the field that was for UNCLE G I can only guess that his maid had other chores for him why else wouldn’t he be with his mates we don’t expect GG to explain why he doesn’t attend anymore so brownie points will be earnt from other members that do that sort of thing for use by those that don’t have enough points like him for a days flying …………………………………………………………just sayn

Sailing season is wrapping up soon here followed by torential rain for a few months with embedded typhoons. Went for a RC fly today, a bit warmer than Hobart. Here is my keychain cam on my Italian friend Leo’s twin kit built OS46 twin plane.
