Here is todays drone footage with no shenanagins until the sailing boats appeared.
And here is some footage with the natural sounds of the canal and no music.

Sailing at Lauderdale Canal today was nothing short of exceptional, the sort of day that reminds everyone why we keep coming back to this quirky, spirited little stretch of water. The sun arrived early and stayed the whole day, warm but never overbearing, while a gentle breeze skimmed across the surface just strong enough to keep sails taut and sailors smiling. It was the kind of weather that could make even the rustiest skipper feel like a seasoned sea dog.
But what truly set today apart wasn’t just the conditions—it was the company. The much-celebrated Wheel Chair mob made their way down the canal, floating with effortless style toward the usual gathering of hardened salty sailors. The mingling of these two groups created an atmosphere of camaraderie difficult to describe but impossible to forget. There was laughter on the docks, chatter on the water, and a shared appreciation for being out in the open air together. Watching the two crews mix, trade stories, and cheer each other on added a spirit of inclusiveness and good humour that lifted the whole day.
Of course, no sail at Lauderdale would be complete without the ever-important media awards. Today’s Video Award goes—hands down—to Hoppy, who outdid himself by submitting not one but two outstanding videos. The man clearly had his camera pointed in all the right directions and maybe even caught a few moments the rest of us missed. Hoppy’s work not only captured the technical highlights of the day but also bottled up its energy, its small triumphs, and the unfiltered joy of being out on the water.
And to keep the frog happy, we’ll let him claim Picture of the Week—for now, at least. The honour stands unless the Sinker manages to come through with something extraordinary in the next round. There’s always room for a twist in the Lauderdale media saga, after all.
All said and done, today was one of those sailing days that felt effortless, cheerful, and slightly magical. With perfect weather, a beautifully blended crowd, and plenty of stories to carry forward, Lauderdale Canal proved once again that it isn’t just a place to sail—it’s a community afloat. Here’s to more days just like this one.

I nearly chocked after reading half way through this load of goddly goop ..AI ..balderdash twibble wobble bull shypp that the flash fom china town had won again the trophy with his presintation video consisting of a few putt putts an a big putt putt all from the air …big deal ..he shouldnt win because he never asked the floaters group if we wanted to be in this video from the air but wait theres more Quote : atmosphere of camaraderie difficult to describe but impossible to forget. There was no camaraderie the wheel chair mob assulted our pontoon with words far from cordial one offender (whom will remain nameless) wanted to run my boat into the bank ie wanted to see my boat on the bank..his words others were waving their fists in the air chanting gord knows what so yes that quote is impossible to forget two QUOTE :even caught a few moments the rest of us missed What did we miss Hoppy going behind the gum tree to have a wee wee I will never forget that or the ohhh look at the female jogger or the slobber coming from GG an hoppys open mouth as she trotted past with a swagger trot to make the judge and the foreign china man go gooie …the Sinker for the time being is out he is no longer a videographer after his maid told him that he has to pay more time to her as the video editing time is now to be used for her an him …… I can understand his predicament I have seen her an I wouldnt want to upset her …NO WAY .. so now what is the real reason the HA HA judge has again given the trophy to the china man ….a new source of money.. me thinketh … no good me making fantastic videos when corruption wins … I will continue to film just for the dragons pleasure ………………………………………………..just sayn

I know I’m a bit late but,
Kermit, your video showed great promise for the first few minutes, great content, no soft focus and no shaky footage. but sorry it went downhill fast after those beautiful scale boats left.
Hoppy’s two videos again were outstanding, high quality and enjoyable to watch with nice music. you might have to see if you can get some lessons from him?
As The judge said he was accepting late entries, here is my photo,

And a little video,
If it was painted green, it would have been the ideal boat for Kermit.
