Perfect Autumn Thursday Fly In @ the field

No Wind, No Rain & almost a perfect 22 degrees greeted the nine (or maybe ten) pilots @ the field today.

Absolutely perfect flying conditions.

I was hoping to fly the new Kobuz glider FPV today after setting it all up ready yesterday but unfortunately I broke the mirror hinge in my FPV goggles so that put an end to than.  I did fly with the FPV transmitting back to a ground monitor for a bit of a test & all worked fine so I’ll fix the goggles in the next day or two & be ready for FPV next time.

Neil flew his FPV Prowler on several flights to perfect his take off & landings and all went well. His ELRS TX module finally arrived so Neil was using his own radio today rather than mine.

Kermit was back on deck today and whilst he spent most of the day on his camera he did manage one excellent flight with his “Big Whitey” but unfortunately had a disastrous landing on his second flight.

No doubt burning the midnight oil effecting a few repairs eh!.

I spotted Ron flying his cardboard Spitfire & Andrew, his new 3d printed Zero, resplendent in cameo colours. Looks good on the ground but makes it damn hard to see when flying.

Not sure what else was happening around the ground whilst I was flying but I’m sure Kermit captured all the highlights.

I did have another video of Kermit’s very successful first flight but it’s been well covered by Chris so I won’t bother posting.

For those that accepted Neil’s chillies, the one I got has black seeds in it so be careful. Didn’t Neil say they are the really hot ones?
