The heavy dark cloak of winter has been lifted! And to celebrate the start of Spring – a stunning day at the Vineyard! A 0 – 4 knot North-westerly was absolutely perfect for the racing of DF95’s
It was good to see Trout back today – not racing, but on his feet again. Trout officiated as PRO today and very necessary too as we had a couple of blanket finishes. Hope that you are back racing soon Phil.
Fab Phil Watkins dashed his chances a bit today with a couple of strandings on the fountain. Nice work with the dinghy though.
Andrew Thomas had his maiden DF95 win today. He finished so far ahead in race #7 that Trout forgot to write him down! Well done Andrew. Henry Finnis scored another win today too. In fact of the nine races completed today we had seven different winners showing how close the racing was.
Only 6 points separating the top 5 skippers today. Pete Sylvester took third spot on the podium. It has been a while since Pete has made it to Puddleduck and it was great to see him today. I took second place with two race wins on the scorecard. It was (Bloody) Geoff Matthews who took out the day just one point ahead. Well sailed Geoff! Geoff’s win today follows a second overall in our last DF95 event. You are throwings down a bit of a gauntlet Geoff.
Rumor has it that Jammy will be back for our next DF95 day. I am thinking that we have all improved just a little bit over winter and are ready to give him a run for his money!
