Another fine day of racing at “the Duck” today with 12 skippers in attendance, just a shame about the weather, cold & a little wet but virtually no wind.
After some lengthy discussions with several of the skippers over the past couple of weeks it was decided to try NO DROPS today as it was felt that the drops were often giving unfair advantage. For the past few weeks we have been scoring with NOT allowing DNS/DNF scores to be dropped which made things a bit more fairer and No Drops is just another step towards fair and simple racing for all @ The Duck.
If you don’t like the idea then
complain to the ducks(just joking) please post your objections on the forum so your point may be taken into consideration for future events.Onto today;
Greg, sailing a brand new RG65, he had only recently completed, came out on top today with 11 points (the high aspect sails worked a treat in the light to very light conditions), closely followed by Trouty with 12 points and third place to Justin on 20 points with Pete just another 2 points behind on 4th.Close racing indeed in the very light but variable (from light to non existent) conditions.
As usual Sue did a superb job as Race starter/official scorer & Kermit sat out the last 2 races to get what will no doubt be some High Quality video of the sailing.

Thanks for that Mike. Also big thanks to Sue for keeping the scores.
A fun day with everyone sailing in good spirits in quite challenging conditions.

Thanks Kermit, your video definitely showed the essence of the day.
Geoff #80 is definitely in the running for the “White Cane” award today, two (or was it three) collisions in one race & not a penalty to be seen.
