Firstly, my apologies to all for such a late post. In fact I did do the report straight away when I got home and I thought that I posted it but as I have been recently informed – I didn’t. So here is the report on last Tuesday’s sailing……
At 8:30 this morning rain was falling so hard that the gutters were overflowing at my home. A text from Bodge told me that the forecast from the BOM predicted it would ease up for sailing. I was not optimistic as I travelled out but by the time that I arrived things had indeed cleared up a bit and though that did not stop it from being a cold and blustery winterโs day conditions did allow us to get sailing. Only six skippers – but who could blame anyone for not turning up given the start to the day.
We put temporary buoy โTโ in position on the West side of the dam and then set a zig-zag course around the buoys which seemed to work quite well.
Everyone except Dave Poon chose A-rigs for the up-and-down conditions. Dave unfortunately pre-rigged his boat with the B-rig and left his A at home.
With so few starters today finding the podium was easy and all but for Poonie who was seriously under-canvassed managed a race win today. Given the blustery conditions the fact that all boats completed all races was something of a minor triumph too.
Third place today went to (bloody) Geoff Mathews who finished the morning strongly. Bodge took second with three race wins on his scorecard. And Trout took out the day just one point ahead of Bodge. Congratulations to all three.
A delicious hot Puddleduck pie was just the ticket for lunch as we stayed on for a bit longer this morning.
It’s that time of year when the Nomads migrate! Geoff Mathews is heading to Queensland for some winter warmth for a couple of weeks. Bodge and Denise are all packed up for a couple of months of RV adventure in the tropics as well. Happy travels to all.

Thanks for the write up Shorty.
It’s good to see that there is a dedicated bunch of sailors that will head out no matter what the weather is ๐
