Puddleduck Combined Sailing 2 Sep 2025

17 sailors turned up today in magnificent weather. We reached the predicted 17 deg with sunshine and wind. Well, Puddleduck wind so it was all over the place as usual.

There were a couple of dingy trips to rescue rafted yachts, pile ups on the marks and missed marks in all the excitement today.

The clear winner in the combined fleet was once again Bluey. It’s not bad when your two drops are six points each out of a fleet of 17. Well done, Bluey. 👍
It’s interesting to note that Trout and Nick were tied for second and third in the combined fleet, with Trout coming second in the countback.  Fast forward to the DF65 only fleet and Nick’s AI came good for him and decided that Nick would be the winner by one point over Trout. I’m not sure what you were saying to the AI Nick, but it paid off. Well done. 🙂
Congratulations for third place JP. Another count back with Trout. You will need to have a word with your AI JP.

That’s it for me unless other people would like to add to the story?

      Nice write up Gadget 👍

it was great to see Poonie competitive at times with a DF 5th place in R5  👍 not easy in a big fleet,  well done Poonie. Another worthy mention goes to Bloody Geoff finishing with 2 x DF 1st places and a 3rd. Go BG👍

As for the rest of us, we had had our chances ….. next time eh.

Good luck to all the DF skippers travelling north this coming weekend for the State Championship 👍
