      Puddleduck Sailing – RG/DF65s

      25th November, 2025

It was back to usual sailing conditions at “The Duck” this morning with mirror calm conditions. Thankfully we saw a gentle NW breeze of 1-2knts by button press which saw 16 boats hit the water.

There were 14 x DFs, all with A+ rigs with the exception of Todd who only had his A rig, however I am led to believe the A+ rig has arrived just waiting to be put together eh 😊. There were also 2 x RGs, Graeme’s with a conventional rig and mine with a swing rig.

Racing was close as usual with a few penalties being completed for varying reasons. There were 8 different line honours winners today with only Andrew Roberts taking 2 wins. Sue (and Bonnie) had their work cut out with the finishes and thank you to the skippers that helped Sue during the course of the morning. There weren’t any major misphaps worthy of note but Ant very kindly launched his RC rescue cat to assist a few that got stuck on the pipe and in the mud, THANK YOU Ant 😊

Nine races were completed today, and it was Switch that came away with both the combined and DF65 only class wins on 25 and 23pts respectively. Second was Phil Mackey 3ptrs adrift in both classes, Rosco taking the final podium spot by 2 pts in the combined class, but was tied for 2nd place in the DFonly class with Phil, but Phil maintained 2nd on countback. Hot on their sterns were Nick (Putty), Bloody Geoff, and Ant Mountain. Cooka cleaned up in the RG class …. Well sailed by all skippers today.

For those that are interested, starting handicaps for R10 were Switch & Putty both on 35secs, Ant & Andrew R on 30sec, Phil & Rosco on 25sec, Bloody Geoff & Trout on 20 sec, Lance & The Menance on 15sec, Cooker on 10 sec, and Peter L on 5 sec.  For the rest of us there is always next week 😊

Thank you to Sue (& Bonnie the ferocious guard dog 😊) for your diligent scoring, it is always so neat to copy into the spreadsheet 😊

See you again on the water,

      Bodge

      Coming up

      Next week 2/12/25 – DF95s at PDV
