Puddleduck Vineyard Combined Sailing 27 May 2025

Wow! A whopping 19 sailors turned up today to have some fun at Puddleduck. Unfortunately, we need a bit more wind to have fun.

The conditions today were very light with a lazy breeze sometimes coming from the north west. We adopted markers 2-3-4 twice around and only managed seven races, so only one drop.

The sailors who tuned their boats for the very light conditions, did very well and that must have been Nick, Phil T and Trout who came first, second and third respectively (oh, and they are pretty good sailors as well). Congratulations podium place getters.

Nick was a bit lucky to sail at all today as he had forgotten his deck hatch and was asking around if anyone had had a spare one. Good on ya Geoff for helping Nick out, but maybe next time, you can lend him a really heavy one!

Bodge and myself thought that we might start making it a habit to bring the rescue dinghy over to the jetty before the start of racing. This will make it safer for anyone who needs to use it.  Of course, no-one needed it today! Oh well, better to be safe than sorry.

      Upcoming events

3 Jun 2025 – DF95 Sailing followed by Puddleduck luncheon. This will be the first luncheon with the new owners and Meg
was pleased to show off the new menu as we were leaving today.  So make sure you put the luncheon in your calendar so you don’t miss out.

      10 June 2025 – DF65/RG65 combined sailing.

Oh, pardon my manners, of course, a big thank you to Sue and Bonnie for the excellent job at scoring again today.
I’t’s always a pleasure to type the very neat results into the spreadsheet when it calculates the placings with no errors ⛵👍🙂
