Fantastic write up Shorty. I think the day went really well and we are on a winning solution to cater for larger numbers. Thanks for helping out today and for offering to help out this weekend for the Peter Smith Memorial Regatta.
Great write up Bodge.
I echo your thoughts with Dennis and him winning the last race. After packing up, I remembered that I needed to return the dingy after rescuing Geoff’s boat but then I noticed Dennis was returning it for me. Thank you, Dennis. 🙂
Following are a few hat cam videos. I once again forgot to change over the battery in the hat cam and I missed recording the last race. Sorry Dennis.

No worries Nick. The poem was generated with a “pirate language” twist.
A great story Shorty and I love your poem.

A hearty poem from Shorty….
Ahoy, mateys! A tale I shall spin, of a day fine and fair,
At Puddleduck Vineyard, where DF95s did fare.
A gentle breeze, a westerly blow,
Set the scene for racing, a grand and glorious show.Though weary from championships, I couldn’t resist,
To join the fourteen skippers, a sight to be kissed.
Trout, back on his feet, though not yet in the race,
Took on the RO’s role, keeping us all in our place.A figure-eight course, ’twas the path we did sail,
When winds be a-changin’, this course will not fail.
Bodge, he be the one, with two victories grand,
While I, yours truly, took third in the land.Jammy, he sailed well, though no wins did he claim,
But Connor, young Nick, he rose to great fame.
Five points ahead, he sailed with such might,
“He’ll whip our butts,” I said, and I was right! So raise a glass, me hearties, to Connor so bold,
His victory today, a tale to be told.
And to all the skippers, who braved the blue sea,
A grand day of racing, at Puddleduck, d’ye see!More time to chat 🙂
I’ll be sailing at Puddleduck.
Wow! Thanks Dave. They are fantastic videos. I really like the sound tracks that you use also 👍
You have a great setup and can fly your drones like a professional 🙂
Great write up JP. Thank you very much for looking after the PRO on behalf of Bodge and myself.
I took a guess at what might have happened today by looking at the scoresheet and the wind history on Willy Weather and I came up with this poem with the help of AI. It’s amazing how close it is to your story!
Thirteen sailors, keen and bright,
Turned up to race, with all their might.
But Dennis’ gear, it met its fate, A DNF, poor mate! The Nationals called, at Montrose town,
But word got ’round, a whispered renown,
At Puddleduck, the podium’s near,
A chance to win, and banish fear! The wind, a trickster, sly and bold,
From southwest, northwest, stories told,
Ten knots it seemed, a gentle breeze,
But twenty knots, it aimed to tease! The final races, seven and eight,
Some sailors struggled, sealed their fate.
The wind’s strong gusts, a fearsome test,
Some boats gave up, and took a rest. The Admiral and Hedley, neck and neck,
In DF65s, no time to check,
‘Twas tied, by Jove, a stunning sight,
The Admiral won, by countback’s light! And JP, third, a worthy place,
Despite the PRO’s tiring chase.
While Sue, our scorer, tireless, true,
We thank her much, for all she’d do!Thanks Gerald 👍
We now have proof that we weren’t slacking off 🙂
Great videos Mike & Kermit.
I was relieved to see Scotty’s PC-9 undamaged after the power failure on take off!
Thanks Kermit.
I really like Dennis’s comment. We need to start learning sea shanties 😂
Hahaha… Thanks Dennis. That would be funny.
