2024 X-mas Sail anything / BBQ day – Puddleduck Vineyard

What a great day at “The Duck” today with approximately 12 boats on the water including DF65s, RG65s, DF95s, Mount Gay sailing cruiser, and two A Class yachts which loomed large over the smaller classes.

It was great to see the A classes on the water which included Kermit’s green(obvious colour) A class called Riggor Mortis and Fab with his dark blue hulled A class with a green tennis ball as a bow bumper. Not sure what the score was with Fab, maybe 40 love? after other classes tried to take him on coming off second best….no love there😊

We sailed a number of casual handicap races with no scoring and still we had issues rounding bouys until the A classes came through 😊that seemed to spread the field pretty quickly.

Overall, it was a very pleasant, social, enjoyable day followed by a BBQ and accompanied by a PDV beverage or two.

Our thanks and best wishes for the festive season goes to the crew at Puddleduck Vineyard (Nick, Jackie, Darren and all the crew) that look after us week in week out, THANK YOU !

To Sue Cooksie (our efficient scorer on DF65 days) we wish you a speedy recovery following recent hospital stay and look forward to seeing you again when you are up and about. We are sure you are in good hands with Graeme and Bonnie.

To all the keen yachties that come along each week in all types of weather, thank you for making it enjoyable with your jokes, wise cracks, banter etc etc, its great fun 😊

May you all have an enjoyable X-mas and best wishes for the new year.

On behalf of Bodge, Gadget and Shorty

        Fab

Fantastic day sailing, a slight crack in the toe of the keel, easy to fix. All electronics working after a dry out and a spray.

Thanks to all who helped me mussle the heavy thing around and in and out of the dam.

Thanks all for your company throughout the year and looking forward to another.

          Fab.
