Report & scores supplied by John (Shorty) Short

The wind was a light 0-5 knot zephyr at Puddleduck this morning. It spiralled around the compass at different times but never left us completely and so we were able to get eight races completed.

We had very close and hard fought racing today. The fact that I finished second last with a win and two thirds on an 8-race card says something about the competitive nature of today’s racing. John Murrell too – some good racing with too wins and a second but had to be happy with 6th place.

And the top four were all tied on 17 points and separated only by countback. In calculating the countback Bodge and Jammy had the same number of wins, the same number of  2nd placings, the same number of 3rd placings and the same number of 4th placings It was Bodge’s 5th placing that helped him to third place today! Jammy was a little disappointed to be leading the final race only to snag himself on the second last buoy. Any result in this race would have won him the day!

Congratulations to today’s place getters. A good win to Phil Turnbull, second to Geoff Matthews, (great to see you back to sailing today Geoff) and third Ian Hey.

Today was the third day of our DF95 summer series.  Current standing see Phil Turnbull leading (9 pts) from myself and Jammy both on (11 pts) but these results do not yet include a discard.
