Kermit, you need to get your facts straight before posting, especially when posting on behalf of someone else.
Greg is not and never has been the owner of the property on which we fly. He is a lessee (for want of a better word) and it was as lessee that he kindly let us fly for many years. That is no longer the situation, whilst Greg still runs a few sheep & I think cattle on the property, the property is now managed by James on behalf of the owners.
Whilst you (and Ross) may well be correct in that the owners property insurance covers any persons legally on the land we as a group have undertaken, first with Greg and then with James that we will ALL carry our own public liability insurance for the purpose of flying rc planes etc at the said property.
That was agreed by all parties when we started flying there many years ago. The only change is that because of changes to how Public Liability insurance is now handled by some insurance companies we needed to change to a new insurer which now costs us $50.00 per annum. This was also agreed to by all parties that replied to my notifications of same.
Simply get insured or don’t fly.
