Sorry all for the late report, but I wanted to get the names to all the boats and skippers right before sending out – hopefully it is right, otherwise let me know and I’ll fix it up.
Ten sailors made it to the latest installment of the IOM Classics sail days. Wonderful that we continue to get northern visitors down to the events, with Ted coming from launceston to sail his Mad Max.
Still breeze to start with, maybe around 12-15 knots, wit all but one chosing B Rig. I only had an A built for me new (to me) TS-2 so it had to do hopefully.
As it turned out, the breeze softened after the first race and the A was the rig to have, gifting a few wins to hull No. 110. A chance to have a break and get everyone else on to the A’s was going to event hings up a bit.
It made for some very tight racing, with the handicap system working very well with 9 of the ten sailors having a podium finish by race 7.
Very tight at the top in the end with just 7 poits separating first and 6th place.
Lisa took out the day in the end, sailing her TS-2 very consistently. Finishing on 39 points.
Peter Webberley also sailed very well, taking second on 42 points.
Wayne Behrens took out third, just one point behind on 43 on countback to Ted Stevens.
Well done everyone – a cold day, but with some good wind. Everyone sailed very respectfully and not a harsh word spoken all day – just how RC Sailing should be.
