A balmy day in comparison to the weekend just gone, and with a nice 10 knot breeze for the Classic IOM sail day at Forcett Lakes.

Ten competitors turned up to an enjoyable days sailing, with a mix of “standard” length and Long Distance courses, set by pro PRO Andrew Wardrop.

It was great to see these yachts gettng their day on the water again, rather than being relegated to a feature exhibit in the shed/garage.

A real positive of the day was that every one of the ten sailors got at least two podium finishes.

Extremely close racing was a standard feature across the day, with a great attitude and comradare amongst the sailors, with many helping out with tuning, fixing and rescuing other’s yachts. So close in fact that 2nd to 6th was separated by just 6 points.

The TS-2’s certainy showed their class (along with their skippers) taking out 3 of the top 4 spots today.

Winner overall today, was Peter Webberley on 42 points.

Second, was Ian Hey, on 50 points, with Kyle Stewart takng out third, with 52 points.

Well done to all sailors today on a fun and enjoyable day – one of more to come.

Thanks must go to Andrew Wardrop for carrying out the PRO duties with his usual distinction. Also to Peter Webberley and Ricky Price for the organisation behind the day.
