A light wind today, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Twelve sailors turned up with their Woodie IOM’s to compete in the second Woodie event of the year.

      Nine races were completed.

Pretty sure all competitors had a good, enjoyable and relaxing sail.

Particular highlight was day winner, Wayne Behrens, winning on just 29 points. With the exception of the last race, his worst score for the afternoon was 4th – a real show of consistency.

Second place today, was Jeff Byerley, sailing Stu Harris’ Idiom, on 49 points.

Rod Marshall took out third place, just one point behind, on 50 points.

Of note, a handkerchief could be placed over so many places, with just 6 points between third and 6th place and only 7 points between 7th and 10th place. The last race in particular, had literally one boat length between second and 8th place, just showing how close the racing really was – a nightmare for the poor guy calling the finish line.

Big thanks to Ricky Price, for his work in organising the day, and John Murrell, for assisting with the starts and finish line calls.

Everyone really appreciates the efforts by the volunteers.
