Good turnup to the field today with 9 from memory including 3 that were not flying, just looking.
Was a shame about the weather, no rain and very little wind but what there was made the day bitterly cold & that lasted till well after lunch when we had exhausted the batteries & were packing for home. The wind then died completely & the sun came out in all its glory.
Anyway those that wanted to got to fly and, apart from Neil clipping a fence on his final landing approach, there were no incidents to report.
I maidened the 3D printed Zero with its new SPARROW V3 FC and it flew like it was on rails. The RTH function (which was my main reason for trying this particular FC) worked a treat & the 15 + minute flight went off without a hitch.
Can’t say the same about my initial test flight with the new 4K Walksnail FPV system on the Kobuz. First off I realised the protective screen on the headset monitor had not been removed (hopefully this was what caused all the reflections). The VTX power setting was way too low so getting behind anything locked up the video feed & then I found the VRX SD card was not recording correctly (so no OSD). All things that should be easily fixed before the next fly day.
After a bit of fine tuning Neil had his Chaser wing flying beautifully with the new SpeedyBee F405 Wing Mini FC doing exactly what it was supposed to (unlike his old Matek FC).
Ron flew his Zero, Spitfire & Tundra, all without incident.
Hoppy flew the Dragonfly and a couple of others while Gerald was flying the Zohd & the Eyas.
Stephen had the Decathlon screaming around the field for several flights along with one of his nitro powered beasties.

Nice onboard footage from the new system Mike, run it through Gyroflow and it will be even better!

Both Thursday (9th) & Friday (10th) look like they could be acceptable for flying again this week, wind is the same both days with gusts slightly higher on Friday but Friday is the warmer of the two but only by 1 degree
If there is enough interest I’ll put up the calendar for an 11:00am start on which ever day suits the majority
