A bit of breeze at the Duck today W to NW fluctuating of course, but it allowed for some good competitive sailing by the 11 that competed. Most managed to get on the podium and many also made themselves famous in different ways. A few managed to trap themselves on the buoy ropes, a couple run aground and one person attempted to wreck his boat. First breaking the jib boom and then trying to snap the servo cradle out of the hull. Amazingly, Trout was able to whip on a spare rig without time to tune, managed to relaunch and then went quicker than he had all day. Easy to understand why they all call him a legend. It was good to see Dennis Oates join us today and he did a good job in a tough pack. Brainy had a mixed bag with some good sailing most of the time, but buckled under pressure when leading won race and let the fleet run over him, bad luck mate. The day’s honours went to the usual suspect in JP with Phil Mackey one point behind and Nick in third. Bluey is rapidly adjusting to the 95 and has already crept up to fourth. Unfortunately I was acting Sheep today, so was unable to contribute to the occasional chaos as normal. Cheers Dennis the menace.
