A lovely fairly consistent Northerly of about 5 knots presented skippers with super conditions for a DF95 sail at Puddleduck Vineyard today. The wind direction allowed for good course setting and nearly all of the races lacked the calm holes that Puddleduck is sometimes renowned for. And to top it all off, sunshine and a little bit warmer too. Very much a ‘spring in the air’ day!
Great to have Dave Poon back in action again today after nine weeks holidaying in Ireland.
Nine races were completed using a slightly longer course.
Third place overall went to Bodge, and second to Phil Turnbull. I managed to shake off challenges from them both to take out the day, finishing with an all podium score-sheet! It does have to be said that the ‘big guns’ were all AWOL though – No Lisa, no Jammy. no Mat and no Trout.
And I reckon that on such a perfect day like today Radio Sailing was the winner!
