It was one of those Perfect mid winter days when nothing could be finer than out enjoying a good old sailing session with your mates.
Ten of them came out to enjoy the light and variable NWN (mostly) 4-5 knots of breeze in warm and bright sunshine for the whole morning.
Ricky #92 was the big improver today with a long string of podiums and two outright victories. His cool consistent sailing edging out the luckless Admiral #23 for second spot for the day.Justin #61 had a wonky rudder servo that made the Saint Special just impossible to sail. Lucky for us as Justin took up the pencil yet again and did a fantastic job.
Bloody Geoff #80 was up to his white cane tricks again today. He sailed well with outright victories in races three and eight but always managed to find trouble where it was most expected.Don #99 was enjoying his sailing as usual today however gear failure sidelined the unflappable one for race nine whilst emergency repairs were effected.
Kermit #82 was unstoppable in his run to last place. Executing perfect victory circles before finishing did not at all diminish his perfect score.Great to see our Graeme #52 out punting his RG65 around the pond. Graeme’s finishes were mostly mid-fleet until the breeze picked up in race 6. Suddenly, the RG came alive unleashing all the power and speed they are known for, leaving the rest of the fleet in his wake.
Mike #64 also had a great day out sailing with the Merry Men and to cap it off finished strongly in the last race.Phil T #32 was in the mix for most of the morning before coming home victorious in the second last race of the day.
Then there was Pete #78 who once more showed the way to the finish line. Earning the magnificent penalty time of 45 seconds by race nine didn’t slow down the smiling assassin in his charge to overall victory today.
Congratulations Pete and miss Pink Bits on a good day out with the Merry Men.
After ten races with two drops the scores were:
Kermit on 52 points, Mike on 40, Don on 39, Graeme on 37 (countback), Phil T on 37 (countback), Geoff on 32, Admiral on 23, Ricky on 22, and our winner today Pete on just 19 points.
Congratulation everyone on a day full of close racing, leg pulling and laughter. Big thank you to Justin for score keeping and photos, Kermit and Mike for videos.
Next week is greyhound time again with the speed demon DF95.
Words by the Admiral, fun by everyone

Yet another day of close racing. Not as cold as expected, and the wind was at it’s unpredictable best. Lady luck was again with Pink Bits – it must be the sails!!
Great write up and superb camera work – thank you guys. Big thank you to Justin for giving up his morning and running our races.
