Eight hardy skippers turned up today wondering what was in store for them and the forecast didn’t
disappoint. The DF65 skippers all settled on A rigs being the first time that I can remember as the Duck is
normally A+ in 95% of conditions. The wind commenced from a NW direction 5-10knts that gradually built throughout the morning
before turning SW with some big gusts that saw every skipper lose control of their boat at some time
or another with plenty of rudders being seen above the waterline at times. A couple of caps were
also seen flying off into the carpark. Our trusty DF65 co-ordinator, Admiral (Col), was unavailable today enjoying himself away, he missed
an exciting morning on the water.Racing was very close with our diligent scorer Sue being kept very busy with close finishes in all 10
races. Thank you again Sue for braving the not so pleasant Tassie weather. The overall combined classes winner today was Cookie on 16 points with 4 race wins and 2 seconds,
well done Graham! Second was the ever-consistent Scrooge on 21 points. It should be noted that the two RG65 skippers in their own class result tied on points with Cookie
taking the honours on countback, can’t get much closer than that !!Finishing third in the combined classes was myself (Bodge) who also snagged 1 st place for the DF65
Class … and yes he was pretty happy that ☺. Second in the DF class was the Smiling Assassin, with
third place to Gadget. Podium finishes were generally shared across all skippers.Well done to all sailors today in the gusty, variable but entertaining conditions today, I believe we all
escaped any breakages or damage, and we will be back in a fortnight to do it all over again, see you
beside the pond ☺Bodge

Great write up Bodge. Very exciting sailing today and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
Here is a handy idea for when you need to put your transmitter down in the event you need to get something out of the car, assist with writing down finishing placings on the scoresheet or go to the loo!
Work on both mode 1 and mode 2 transmitters.
Mode 1 transmitter is depicted in the video.
