As advertised it turned into a mostly light variable breeze kind of day although it filled in nicely for the latter part of our races.

A couple of skippers who have been visiting the big island rejoined us today and with good results.

Good to have Bodge #6 back in the fleet and keeping everyone honest again. Four podiums including an outright win showed he has lost none of his skill whilst away.

The Hobart Chinaman #81 started to make some inroads on the fleet earlier on but with the tricky conditions plus a few dnf’s unfortunately he didn’t get his mojo back as the racing progressed.

The Unflappable One #99 didn’t find the conditions suited his orange rocket today either. Getting a good setting was indeed very hard at times and our Don languished mid to lower fleet for most of the session.

The greyhound RG’s also found the conditions less than favourable and both Cooksey #52 and Scrooge #8 struggled when the breeze slipped away to zephyr strength. Their narrow high aspect sails gave up about 20% sail area to the larger A+ DF rigs and it appeared that both yachts swing rigs proved difficult to tack in the lighter conditions.

Great to see Bloody Geoff #80 back on the water and competitive as usual. Apart from a nice podium second in race four our Geoff had an uncharacteristic Kangaroo day.

Good starts kept our Sheep #37 competitive throughout the morning but alas he too fell victim to the sometimes frustratingly light conditions.

The Admiral #23 kept his nose in front enough to score four podiums of which two were first places. Unfortunately some less than marvellous other results did his chances in of making it any higher on the leaderboard.

Two firsts, two seconds and two thirds showed great consistency and was more than good enough to propel our Trout #11 into second overall and also in the DF65 only class today.

Back and blistering fast from the mainland Jammy #39 came today loaded for bear. A total of five good podiums which included three first places put Jammy in the box set before his accumulated time penalty eventually took its toll and he slipped back in the field. Congratulations Jammy you are our overall winner today.

Special thanks go once again to Sue for keeping the scoring tidy and timely. Admiral for story, score calculation and publishing.
