      DF95’s @ the Duck

Info supplied by John (Shorty) Short

It was a very blustery Tuesday at ‘The Duck’. Six skippers took to the pond but Geoff succumbed immediately to radio problems leaving just five to battle each other and the recalcitrant breeze.

The fountain supply pipe once again proved to be bit of an obstacle with most skippers running foul of it at some stage.

Jammy, Trout and myself bravely tried our A rigs for the first couple of races before realising that it was not that sort of day. All skippers sailed with their B’s for the remaining races and just as well too as the wind intensified throughout the morning. Eventually we called it a day with nine races sailed and headed in for early coffee.

Jammy was today’s winner by a long shot. His five wins reflected his superior skills in the blustery conditions. Those skills included a high speed mini jump to clear the fountain pipe. Great to watch!

Phil Turnbull and Phil Jackman took second and third places respectively. Both had race cards with ‘all podium finishes’ once discards were taken.

John Murrell did not compete today, also due to transmitter problems, but did a great job taking the role of PRO. Thanks John.
