Thirteen sailors were greeted with lovely sunny weather at Puddleduck today.

The wind was anywhere from the south west to the north throughout the morning and then ended up southerly for the last race.

The forecast temperature was for 30 degrees and when the wind dropped, it felt much hotter than that!

Everyone seemed well behaved around the course today which made for some very pleasurable sailing.

We had one temporary snag on the fountain which didn’t need the deployment of the rescue boat and Poonie launched his yacht after some maintenance forgetting to switch it on. Don’t worry about that Poonie, some of us have done that before, including me!  Fortunately, Phil and Gadget came to the rescue and nudged his boat towards the bank where it could be retrieved with the pole hook.

Close racing at the pointy end of the fleet saw Jammy taking first position in the combined fleet and DF65 class with 11 points and 7 points respectively.  Bluey sailing his RG65 came second in the combined fleet on 13 points.  The Smiling Assassin came second in the DF65 class on 13 points followed by The Admiral in third on 18 points. Well done to our podium placings today.

Congratulations to our newest member of the club, Adrian, who came forth in the DF65 class sailing on his first outing.

Once again, a big thank you to Sue and Bonnie for the scoring and a big thank you to the sailors who helped Sue out on some of our very tight finishes in the light winds.

      Hopefully some videos to follow….
