      Puddleduck Sailing – RG/DF65s 15.08.23

There was a reduced fleet at Puddleduck today due to a single vehicle accident along Richmond Road this morning, with traffic being diverted back through Cambridge, Penna and Grass Tree Hill. Thankfully no one from either Puddleduck or the sailing group were involved.

As a result, we were a little late commencing, but we did manage to squeeze in eight races by midday. A light NW breeze between 0-3 knts kept us entertained / frustrated throughout the morning with Sue and her trusty guard dog “Bonny” keeping an eye on things. (Assistant PRO 😊)

It was great to see Don (The Unflappable One) back at the duck following renovation duties. Don was a little rusty but did manage a third place in race 7.

Poonie #81 had an indifferent day, with some rigging issues bringing him unstuck at times, we are sure he will have those sorted out before the next outing. Fab #17 was another to have mixed results but did manage 3 podium results, 1st, 2nd & a 3rd.

At the end of the day, it was Graeme #52 with his RG65 that took overall honours in the combined fleet with 5 x 1st places. Bodge managed to scrape into second place with Ret Admiral coming in a very close third place one point adrift.

In the DF65 only class, Ret Admiral came out on top with 8 points after drops, with Bodge second on 9 points, with Fab third on 14 points.

Another enjoyable morning was had by all that attended, with plenty of banter and laughs along the way. Thank you again to Sue, Bonny and Puddleduck crew for looking after us.

See you all next time at the Duck 😊

Good job Bodge. It was a lovely day to be off the couch and out with the ‘duckers again.  Great weather, good company and tight racing at times.

Great write up bodge, nice bit of racing today with a great bunch of people. Sue and Bon did an excellent job keeping us in line.
