Puddleduck Combined Sailing 30 Jul 2024
The weather was fantastic for the 11 sailors that turned up today.
We were greeted with 2 – 5 knot northerly which changed to a north westerly with magnificent sunshine. The warmth from the sun cancelled out the 8 – 10 degree air temperature.
The temporary buoy was deployed on the far side of the dam just in case we needed to shorten the course, but it was not required. I’m happy to report that I remembered to retrieve the temporary buoy at completion of sailing this time!Combined Fleet
Once again, Bluey was the stand out champion getting the Gold Medal with 8 points with two drops of 3 and 2 points and no less than four first placings!
Lisa gets the Silver Medal with 14 points and Graeme, the Bronze Medal with 22 points. Well done to the podium placings.DF65 Fleet only
After filtering out the RG65’s, Lisa gets the Gold Medal in this class topping Trout’s performance in the combined class. Very consistent sailing by Lisa with amassing 7 points after drops of 3 and 2 and no less than 5 first placings!
Trout has returned to the pointy end of the class with getting the Silver Medal on 16 points and the Admiral with the Bronze medal 17 points.Two notable mentions are Don with a runaway win in race 5 and unfortunately, Flash with intermittent electrical problems again.

13 Aug 2024 – DF65/RG65 sailing and Puddleduck luncheon after sailing.
