It was another fine day for sailing down @ the Canal today with temp around 22c and light to moderate winds predominantly from the SSE.
Skippers today were Dave, Pred, RonB, Kermit, Pete (aka PinkBits) & Moose.
The canal was a blaze of colour with the 65 fleet all sporting different sail colours and then there was Dave’s DF95 (Flying Custard) to add a splash of yellow to the works.
We had several visitors early on and both the kids & their dad took delight in sailing my 65 & Dave’s 95 for a short while. I think I know what will be on someone’s Santa list this year!!
Today was primarily a tuning day to have the 65’s ready for Puddleduck on Tuesday.
Moose has finally got his Orange Terror sailing reasonably well with just a couple of minor mods to his jib boom when he gets home. We should see him at Puddleduck in the very near future.
Kermit was sailing well (even with a damaged Main Sail) till an electrical malfunction left him stranded in the middle of the canal. Several other yachts responded to his PAN, PAN call and he was quickly shepherded back to the jetty.
I don’t think there were any other issues today and we finished up around Midday for our usual BBQ lunch.
During lunch our old mate Ross (Bad Angel) dropped in for a chat, hopefully we will see him return to Canal Sailing in the near future.
