A rainy day greeted the early starters (Mike & Dave) @ the canal today but by the time Kermit & the others arrived just after 10:00 the rain had stopped & the sun was almost out.

Conditions were much lighter than predicted today and the N/Westerly wind never really got above a light breeze as opposed to the 10 to 15 knots predicted.

Today there were DF65’s (Pete, Kermit, RonB), DF95’s (Dave, Kermit), a Goth RG65 (Kyle), a Wedgie IOM (Mike) and a Bantam IOM (Fred) so a real mixed bag.

I was testing a reassembled IOM before deciding whether to strip it down and completely refurbish it. More than happy with the performance especially for first time on the water in many years for the Wedgie design IOM.

Fred Barrett was sailing his recently self designed & built Bantam (woody) IOM but today it was a bit under powered as it was only carrying a “B” rig.

Apart from an occasional burst of cold winter wind the day was very pleasant and enjoyed by all whom attended.
