Cold and foggy start to the morning but it soon changed to a bright & sunny day with little wind for an almost perfect flying day.
There were 6 in attendance today with a couple of regulars missing due to other commitments.
Those there all flew multiple craft and apart from a less than perfect landing by Rudolph all went off without a hitch. Well we can say that as Kermit & his trusty camera were missing today, & if Kermit didn’t capture it on film it didn’t happen.
I flew my rebuilt ZOHD Altus twin and can happily say it flew just as well as it did before its collision with Terra Firma several weeks ago.
Also got a nice 20 minute FPV flight with the Kobuz glider (video below)
DaveP (Rudolph) had a mini helicopter for show and tell today and whilst he reckons he is still in learning phase it flew very well.
Over the lunchtime BBQ 4 of the 6 pilots had a wee drop of the whisky that is soon to be produced & sold on site (a sample of which was gifted to us last week by one of the distillery partners), the consensus was that although the first swallow kicked like a mule, once the throat was numbed sufficiently to be able to appreciate the flavour, it was a fine & flavoursome drop indeed. GG & Ron went for seconds but at 47.3% the rest of us who needed to drive showed a bit more discretion, and yes Kermit we kept a wee dram for you as directed.
After the BBQ lunch & the imbibing we had a few more flights before packing up and heading home, no doubt to do it all again once the few days of predicted wet weather clear again.

Another great flying day indeed! If only I’d remembered to charge my radio battery too, I would have had more flights! 😜
Ron wasn’t here today, but I made sure to have his second for myself! 😜

With Hoppy returned to the Phillipines (for the Aussie winter) and Kermit off on sick leave we are a bit light on in the video department this week, but at least Neil (with grateful assistance of Sinker) did make an effort to get a couple of pics on his phone.

It looks like flying has taken a turn.
I was with you “in spirit” while drinking a Whisky Sour on the cruise ship in Alaska.
