Well Mr Frog, your days of solo racing may soon be over.
With Spring (and warmer weather) just around the corner I have started to build a new race boat (One Class Victoria).
I’ve had the hull and most of the bits I need for several years & whilst cleaning up the toy room & selling a few various models I found it buried in the corner, well concealed under much junk.
Anyway its now on the build agenda, new deck hatch & surround have been designed and 3D printed yesterday, CF keel post made & fitted and all unnecessary fittings removed from the deck.
As you cant have a sexy new boat without a name it will eventually be christened “Victoria’s Secret”
Gardening on the agenda today but if it rains this afternoon as predicted I’ll make a start on the servo mounts.
Nice clear video there with your new HandiCam Chris, you just need to learn to pan around a bit slower.
You may have some issues with your flying of late Mr Frog but you still do a great job as resident videographer @ the field.
Well done at capturing the essence of the day.
Not a bad video Mr Frog however rather disappointing to only see the Green Monster flapping on the end of the jetty like a flag rather than getting out amongst it.
Surely with your skills you can control the yacht & operate the camera at the same time !!
Well Gerald, your new wheels/tyres were of such quality that I thought they deserved a close up look.
Well then, the Version 2 Savage Bobber (Lite) is finally completed & ready to Maiden.
I tend to think I may have gone too light this time and the whole thing may collapse with the stress of flying, oh well.
This time its around 1/2 the weight , all up flying weight is now 1080gm (inc 1300mAh 3S LiPo), it has a more powerful motor and now spins a 2 blade 8 x 4 prop rather than the original 3 blade 6 x 3 prop.
I’ve also beefed up the undercarriage & fitted fatter black TPU tyres in place of the skinny red ones.
The original, which would probably have flown well with this new motor/prop setup, is now hanging in Kermit’s museum dedicated to things that did & things that didn’t.
