Wow! Close call with the Tundra and the tree Mike!
We don’t want another ladder long pole exercise so soon!
Very good videos once again 🙂

Hi Shorty, I have nothing planned for Friday so I’ll come along.

Do you want to pop up a calendar entry for it?  We might get some other people along if they look at the calendar.

Another suggestion is to pop up a forum post and maybe title it “Impromtu DF95 Sailing at Puddleduck Friday 21 Jun” or similar as people will notice that in the feed rather than the adition to this DF65/RG65 Tuesday post.

Mike does similar for proposing fly days.

Thanks for the write up Shorty.

It’s good to see that there is a dedicated bunch of sailors that will head out no matter what the weather is 🙂

    Hello Peter,

I googled nicknames for Peter Ross and found on the Spiderman Fandom web page, Peter Ross is also known as spider-boy.

    https://spiderman.fandom.com/wiki/Peter_Ross_(Earth-9602)

So, as a suggestion, you could use Spidey or something similar. You could also use a Spider Man or spider for an avatar in the forum like…

Which I think looks really cool. What do you think?

A well written report which sums the day up nicely Shorty, thank you.  Oh, and thank you for your kind words on the pineable slice 🙂

I’m going to repost the link to the DF95 Tuning Gauges again as there was a few questions about them today.

Btw, the gauges were used on Rod’s brand new DF95 this morning before it hit the water!

Thanks for the video Kermit. Definitely worth the wait.  The original one did seem a bit short especially considering everything that went on.

Scotty did pick a great day for flying.  Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be seen!  It was a bit disappointing as we all waited at the gate for him to greet us, let us in and then close the gate behind us.  We were all eager to see his leadership skills in managing the day but instead, wallowed around like the sheep in the paddock.

Nah, nothing like that at all.  As Kermit’s video so clearly demonstrates, we had greater than normal turn out with two newbies in attendance.  David’s very maneuverable stunt planes reminded us of the planes that The President, Ian used to fly.  It brought back some good memories as we reminisced of times in the past.  Rian’s friend Rob was learning to fly a new model under the guidance of Rian with a buddy box setup but a nasty dose of wind shear (or Ralph the eagle) struck at an in opportune moment which meant a few repairs would be needed before they come back again.

Mostly everything else has been mentioned on other peoples posts but I’d like to reiterate how good a pilot Kermit really is from Top Gun Flight School when he really wants to be. That was some well controlled flying with Big White to round of a great days flying by everyone.

And yes, thanks for providing and cooking a delicious BBQ again Kermit.

Wow! Great video Kermit. The effects of the bomb drops were fantasic and your camera picked up the sound really well. Especially the first one on the video. Thanks to Gerald for finding the five chamber bomb and printing it for the gangs enjoyment.

Welcome back Stephen and you have lost none of your flying skill from holidaying in Europe for so long.

We love it when Scotty turns up and impresses us with his flying skills and high performance aircraft along with his bubbly personality 👍

So David, if you found the site and this forum, this is what you can expect if you join our intrepid bunch of aviators 🙂

Mike, we hope you are feeling better and as you can tell from Kermit’s excellent video and editing skills, you missed a great day and another delicious BBQ.

Here we go…. Lipo Battery Safety Tips…..

in reply to: Puddleduck Vineyard Racing DF65/RG65 21/5/24 #16811

Great write up Bodge. Although it was cold, I think the sailing went really well today.

After listening to the chat about lipo batteries today, I rembered that I did a presentation at the Wednesday night ham radio club meeting a few years ago (REAST) which included lipo battery safety tips.  I’m going to extract that part of the YouTube video and add it to the thread that Kermit started earlier.

In the meantime, here are a few of my hatcam videos from today.

    Race 4

Here’s a presentation I did a while ago at REAST and I included a section on safety with LIPO batteries….

Oops, I need to do a bit more editing….
