Yes Ron, I also just got the word, most likely 3 day lockdown from midnight tonight so Tuesday is looking better by the minute.
The announcement has not been made officially yet but everyone is out panic buying. My daughter is at Coles NthGate and reckons the register queue stretches right down to the back of the shop.
Happy times ahead !!
Actually I was thinking that Sunday MAY be OK if the weather improves tomorrow.
Sunday is supposedly only light winds & possible showers later in the day (much like Tuesday)
Could be a new V Tail glider to replace the old one he wrote off the other day ?
Thanks Ron, hopefully this weather will clear up good enough for sailing on Saturday & flying early next week.
Yes Chris you are correct but its still a build in progress.
According to the HK website the wing wires (braces) are there purely for show and have NO structural value at all (but they do look cool)
Getting there slowly between a beer or three !!
BA taught me well, velcro gloves & gumboots (old NZ trick)
Uncle G, those Korts nozzle drives are a serious bit of kit. They would have paid for a plane or two no doubt.
Should be a nice tug when its finished.
Another fine production from Toad Hall, truly captured the essence of today.
Definitely a serious contender for the GMA this weekend.
Well I guess I learned something today, I always thought the GMA was awarded on a rotational basis with content playing little or no part in the selection process. Guess I will have to pick up my game in the future eh?
Better get the Ghost Cam out again.
Well enjoy it this week cos it will be turned off next time the beast flies (so long as I remember). With if off you can see the pilot all the time (look at some of the older Fox videos)
I find that the woven CF rods are stronger than the extruded ones. Most yacht mast are extruded which is why they split if not bound or sleeved on the end. The woven ones look like CF sheeting.
If Hoppy’s arrow shaft is no good then Nicks Hobby Shop @ Sorell had a good collection of various size & length CF rods at a reasonable price.
The Fibreglass Shop in Argyle St also stock them in longer lengths but they are not cheap.
Nice one Kermie, as per usual !!
Gee man you almost gave the poor frog a heart attack !!
Nice one Uncle G.
Yes, you were right about the weather Hoppy & called the parting of the clouds with precision timing.
Definitely another nice Spring Day for flying in Southern Tas.
