Its been a while since this post was updated but the cabin interior has now been designed, printed & installed.
With no plans of the original Chief Seattle Fire Boat (which Rescue 17 was modelled off) I had to work from the only decent interior pic I could find.

So with the pic in hand it was off to the 3D modelling software to try and recreate something similar. It was decided to design each panel separately then glue them together.
Certainly made printing a rather complex design much easier.
Below is the final design of all separate parts ready for printing
Of course there was the ships wheel as well which ended up connected to a servo and now operates with the rudder.
Below are actual pics of the printed & assembled interior

The whole interior is installed with just 2 screws & a 3D printed clip in design so removal for maintenance is very easy.
Only thing left now is to replace the temporary cardboard ceiling lining with a Styrene sheet one and fit the interior light fittings over the LEDs.
Here is a brief demo of the remote 8 channel lighting control system (https://youtu.be/2gOvQzanPjY)
and a test video from Lauderdale Canal
G’day Tug, yes definitely a rare event, judging from previous posts on the matter.
I guess they are getting older & improving their driving skills, or perhaps they are just trying not to stress out poor old Granddad with the endless repairs.
That pic is just Kermit in his BoBo the clown costume.
Ah, bring on summer.
Managed to get a couple of coats of primer on the hull today.
If it all sands up ok in the morning I should be able to get the antique white top coat done tomorrow.

May just get there by Christmas yet!!
Moose, you have to remember that Kermit may be just a frog but he is also Clown in residence so we all need to cut him a bit of slack from time to time.

With all the varnishing now finished it is time to start the prep work for painting the hull & cabin tops.
After much scraping & sanding all paint has been removed from the hull back to the gelcoat. This was required as most of the original paint was not well adhered to the hull, no undercoat had been used & I reckon there was still mould release wax on the glass hull which would account for the paint peeling & chipping so easily.
Hopefully this time it will be better.
Half way there !

Well, that’s the hull stripped

Now just need to sand the keel & bulb smooth then give the hull a once over with Wet & Dry to clean up any remaining marks then it should be ready for the primer .
Well done My Frog, with all this whit and artfull treasures at The Field it will soon need to be proclaimed a Sacted Site, especially as it’s likely to be an historic graveyard of tried and tested (to destruction) model flying things.
Well where is the pic?
No Pic, it isn’t done!!!
I forgot about Uncle G’s flight video, but finally here it is. CFI (acting) Kermit will be pleased.
Written from your death bed eh Kermit. Nice to see you could still rise to the challenge.
Im sure you will be back on deck soon, probably even sooner if you stop sucking all those paint fumes!!
Sounds like another fine Duck day was had by all, the rest of us, except poor Kermit who is unwell with a croak in his lungs, were flying at The Field as today looked like the only decent day till early next week.
A bit late (as usual these days) but finally here is the video from Saturdays yachting @ the canal.
Three coats of Spar Varnish have now been applied to the deck and that is now finished and ready to prep & paint the hull.
Thought I may as well repair the damage to the cabin hatch cover & re varnish the cabin walls before starting the painting.
That way I can spray the hull & cabin roof at the same time so less paint waste & less cleaning up.
Will need to apply 3 coats of varnish (recommended minimum coats) so once again that will take 3 or four days depending on the weather but at least the repairs are done & the first coat applied.

Thank you Kermie (me old froggy mate), your comments are appreciated, at least we know you read the posts.
I know frogs have very short memories (perhaps like fish) so I guess this is the only way to know what you actually got up to, after the event is over.
How are the repairs to the Tundra going? It didn’t show up in any of the videos but in case you have forgotten you had one rather hard landing, or was it the impact with the fence strainer wire that did the damage?
Well she be airborne again next week?
You can import multiple photos (up to 20 in one go) in the photo section, you can then post a link in your forum post to the photos.
Have a look at the how to videos on the subject for more information .
