It was not the type of tape but the colour. Sorry just my attempt at humour. Keep up the great build.

Nice build Pred, looking forward to seeing it on the water. Green Masking Tape??????????

Great photos Pred, thanks for posting.

I see you got a lot of attention from the media boat in the first part of Preds video Kermit. I think they are just trying to work out why you are so fast. Good ploy at the end he did not know what green machine to follow.

Nice video Pred. Enjoyed your previous one where the duck nearly had you back in the shallows. See if you had got stuck he had all his mates there to show what they can do to a stricken yacht. But you turned just in time.

Your correct Pred, it is defined in the CMYK standard as 0% cyan, 20% magenta, 100% yellow and 0% key( black). Who knew it was so regimented.

Yellow and green are the official colours of Australia so hopefully they will be seen on the podium of many sporting events.

Not a problem Kermit, she is slowly recovering. You were lucky you had so much help. It was offered but I decided it easier just to do things when I had time.

Anyone is free to take any thing I post and develop and improve to there hearts content. Somethings I post may be of use to others and some will leave others scratching there heads as to what I am on about.

After more reading of this forum it seems if I ever decide to join in some rc yacht racing the recommended colour is green. Is there some fee on copywrite I need to pay.

Thanks Pred, as you know there have been a few different ones over the years.

Kermit, maybe “circumstances” was not the correct word. Wife in hospital for a number of weeks would have been better.

Kermit, I would have thought you would have holidayed up with your cousins in QLD in the warm. Could not comprehend you sailing in the ice, not for me, I will put my hand up as one who would be home on that day, well lets be honest if the sun is not radiating rays of warmth count me out.

Circumstances have meant no modelling for a while.

Before then I needed to build a hull clamp that would fit my work bench and was easily removable, adjustable and low cost. Just needed to keep the hull steady so I could work on it either by standing or sitting on a stool.

This is what I came up with. Has 4 (2 of which are only required sometimes) adjustable arms, infinitly adjustable.

Pred 97, no wonder he is held in such high esteem. Worked 30+ years past normal retiring age just so could pay all the extra tax to help keep the country a float. He will be mentioned in government dispatches.

Thanks Pred, there was nothing there that was not on SS, I will take heed of your warning but he seems such a friendly fellow sailor!!!. Although the more I catch up on the forum the more I see his name crop up.

Following this build with interest Pred, well done on your progress. How the use of the 3D printer as a modelling tool is of interest. It definitely produces a very  well professional product to exact dimensions. Mrs Pred missing a few pegs??? Kermit I will start another topic to answer your questions, leaving this topic for Pred to continue his build.

Great video Uncle G and well edited. I did notice there were a few skippers still a bit wary of the media boat.

in reply to: Predators Mount Gay 30 rebuild #3116

Thanks for the welcome Pred and Kermit. Will post a bit about myself when I get time. Know some of the names on here from Preds YT channel and ShipShape. Kermit I noticed that the other skippers did not come to your defence when under attack. More interested in their BBQ. Bit of a worry. More of a worry was just after I posted my wife told me their was a drone hovering overhead. I stayed inside.

Thanks for the invite to the forum Pred. Trying to catch up with all the goings on over there in Tas. The forum seems to cover your local groups RC adventures well. As you are aware I am more theory than practical and don’t do much sailing here in WA. Hopefully that will change. Enjoying this upgrade of the Mount Gay 30, especially how new technologies fit in to the modelling process. Look forward to when its on the water, better keep it away from any fast travelling media boats on the canal. If we get back to Tas will put on the list a visit to the canal although after a recent video it seems a bit dangerous with that drone attack.
