I have a Skyfly transmitter (mode 2 – right hand tiller) brand new, unused and still in the box. $80.00. Phone David Read 0407518171
DF 65 models are impossible to purchase new just now – we have a new skipper at Orford keen to purchase one. Do any members have a good v6 or v7 model they wish to sell? If so, call Dav on 0407518171.
Great write up, thanks for organising the “Puddleduck end”. A great day!
Weather looks great for the visit to the Orford Radio Sailing Group on Friday. Crocks/gumboots shouldn’t be required, but probably best to put them in the car in case we get a significant rain event in the next day or two. Details have been posted previously, however Triabunna is about a 75 minute drive from Hobart. Bodge or Dav (daveonboard@outlook.com) will be able to answer any queries. We look forward to seeing the Puddleduck mob Friday 17th for an 11:00am starting gun.
Dav 0407518171Just to tie up some details regarding the visit to Orford Radio Sailing Group on 17th November:
- Competition to be run by the Puddleduck mob. Starting gun goes off at 11am.
- Access to “The Pond” is a gate to the left about 100m down Louisville Road from the Tasman Highway at Orford
- Bring your own lunch/drinks etc. a barbecue is available.
- The event is weather dependent- confirmation will be posted two or three days prior.
If you have any queries refer them to Bodge or me (Dav – daveonboard@outlook.com)
Cheers

Thanks for joining us guys – we had a great afternoon with some very close sailing!
Dav
Thanks for the write up Bodge, it was great to have you up here sailing with us. Some of our guys are already making cameo appearances at Puddleduck, and it’s good to see some movement between the two groups. The Orford group are informal and 5 or 6 strong. Sailing days are dependent on weather and usually coincide with visits from members who have shacks in the area. As stated by Bodge, “The Pond” is a great sailing location and will be greatly improved after we have a local contractor stabilize the water level – this will expose the natural rocky ledge surrounding the pond allow us to set courses from all sides, to take advantage of the prevailing wind. These works will take place shortly following which we will be offering a general invitation to “The Ducks” to join us for a sail and barbeque. We communicate and arrange events via “WhatsApp” – if anyone is interested in keeping tab on our movements, I’ll be happy to send you a link to the WhatsApp “Orford Radio Sailing Group” if you send me an email.
