It was a record day for maidens. I had 2, ron at least 1, mike 1. Anyone else?

Videos were top quality especially the aliens or are they zombies that were also there. No videos from me as I was too busy with my maidens.

Unfortunately the weather looks a bit ordinary for a while so plenty of time for building more planes for more maidens.

Finally I would like to thank the weather gods for helping me choose another cracker day.

It’s a S800 wing not a sky shadow. Rian gave it to me for spares as I have a S800 that flies nicely. We think it’s a V1 S800 as is mine but I made my own motor mount which I think is what changed between V1 and V2.

My servos arrived already from China in less than 2 weeks. I just looked at the forecast and monday looks like the least worst day for a week so put in calendar but you need to look at august.

Ian thanks but I just popped round to Ron’s and got 2.

Funniest sailing video. Bundy always makes sailing fun. Look forward to more videos like this.

    I got 2 issues.

    1. I’m after 2 identical small servos about 4.5grams or 5 grams. I e got some coming in from china but could be a month or more. It’s for a small ducted fan jet I’m building as got the frame from Kermit.

    2. I dropped my Jumper T Lite Transmitter and broke 3 of the 4 three way switches on top. Any idea of replacements? Also I broke the battery compartment hatch if anyone can print a replacement? I should have fixed on the neck strap properly!

Nice sailing breeze today so 5 of us had a social sail and practice races at the Canal Jetty.  Hopefully BA will provide the video entertainment later. Nb the ducks won all the races.

Dave, for your needs you should buy LiPo packs. Lion are for long single flight times such as long range FPV.

Yes the weather today was perfect and 13 cars present so headcount 14 I believe, which is a record. There were very weak thermals after lunch that Chris Adams from Lonny found and even my Fox could just stay up in them. I flew around trees with my S800 Wing and then my Esky Eagles. Here is the S800 video:

And here is the Eagles video:

A good weather day and whoever chose it should receive the highest praise! 3 videos from me. Firstly my Eyas with new mini mobius v2 camera. A bit of chasing and going round trees:

Then the Drifter with same new cam. Some more chasing in this one:

And finally Lepetit this time with #32 keychain cam.

Good videos today but some of the prangs were missed. In the Falklands conflict the British used VIFF which was vectoring in forward flight to get the sea harriers to quickly target the enemy aircraft by adjusting the jet nozzles in a turn.

Mike has PIFF settings, no idea what that is but I’m going for Pranging in Forward Flight.

My LePetit biplane hadnt flown for a while. For some reason the ESC died on take off so a brief video for this! Only a 20amp ESC so maybe its not enough.

Best flight was from the Drifter as first flight of the day so still clouds around the hill top. Played near the clouds:

Changing the cam from PAL to NTSC may fix the OSD issue. Monday or Tuesday look ok for a fly. Any preference?

in reply to: Sunday Fly Day #8127

After choosing to fly on windy Friday I redeemed myself by choosing a good day today to fly with 10 turning up. Ian and Kermit had mishaps and Moose’s Cessna suffered a bent nose gear but no major bingles. Mike’s dolly wheel needs modifications and if successful I may do one for my 2.32m Fox.  My fox got a couple of weak thermals but barely enough to maintain height. Did a few aerobatics and tweaking. Here is a highly cut down video:

Also my Eagles had a brief flight. Both of these videos with the #32 keychain cam:

I now own the 2.3m fox and it’s ready to fly with vario etc setup. Here is a good wheel option.
