I would like to remind everyone I picked the good day. Makes a change after my last time that was drizzly. Today we had the bonus of waterlogged fields so perfect for the all terain Skipper (700mm mini) and Skipper XL (864mm span). The small skipper went nice but did not have an onboard camera but here is a keychain on the Skipper XL. It flew on a 3S 2200 pack off the water but with a new 3 blade prop for more thrust. It was hard to steer on the water as i took off the bottom plastic flotation plate. I now know it needs it so will reinstall.

The Skipper XL got water in the fusalage which is where the servos are including aileron so it got a glitching servo at the end. And my XK X450 was glitching too so I put the camera to look at the offending motor tilt servo. It flew OK so here is the video:

I will post the drone footage of the retrieval attempt later as need to add music thats acceptable to Kermit and youtube.

Or you can use a proper saw like in this video but will need a bigger drone. Tomorrow is the one ok day for a week. How about a fly and retrieval day?

Well done on finding it. I’m sure I walked under that spot twice. And as your video is taken today it’s still elligible.  Kermit can you tie a line to your phantom and flies that over the Branch then pull up a bigger rope to then bring down the plane? I’m free tomorrow morning if you want to try then? Else the wind due on Saturday may blow it down.

I know the crazy frog would never vote for himself so I would l like to nominate his latest Towedhall Productions as video of the week. Has music and a lot of effort to remove the out of focus shots. The 24 hour timeframe to submit or request an extension is expired.

the new Microsoft flight Simulator 2020 is nice. No crash damage to reglue. But Tasman bridge looks like a dam so cant fly under it.

    Hi Kermit

Sorry I got too many appointments today. Good luck with finding it.

    Mike

I will review that video file later today.

Need to see raw footage, this is too blurry on my 4k monitor. the video editor and then youtube vastly reduce the resolution. I got no vids to put up as just a lot of trees from the Drifter as I looked for the downed Tundra. One possible target that I emailed you the PNG file as too big to upload to this website. But could be in horse lady property based on the footage.

CG should be about 65mm back from top LE. Wednesday forecast looks ok.

I have remade my award winning video with appropriate music. Much better than the wind and engine noise and sound of branches slicing through foam. If the consensus is this new video is better then many musicians will be able to stay in business.

Can the FOV be changed to reduce the fisheye distortion as it’s quite bad?

Nope, different tree. Was trying for smaller and trickier gaps.
