Thanks Pete, both you and Gerald were missed!
He is a good man, we are lucky to have him in our group. 👍
Might have to adjust the start line buoys. Glad it worked for the larger boats.
Cheers
Looks like a good turnout in some pretty nice conditions! Did you run races?
One order of frogs legs …. coming up!
Ok back now and report amended as above.
Cheers!
Oops, got hauled away mid report for an emergency up North and missed the all important scores but will add them in tomorrow when we get back home.
CheersExcellent!
Great comments guys. Yes it was an exceptional day all round. Thank you Kermit for stripping back the guff and giving the ‘real’ report on the day. You were missed Pete and it was a one to remember.
Perhaps Mike, something automated and terribly techy like perhaps setting up a static camera over the start line. Next race set it up overlooking the Windward mark. Use a blue tooth button to fire off lots of shots (and video) while you enjoy more of your sailing.
Just an idea.
Also an issue coming up is with our fleets growing we will reach a stage where too many boats are on the water at the same time. Windward mark = insane!!
I got an idea of how we could manage this situation from a Facebook group based in the USA and I’ll share that with you all (y’all) next Tuesday.
Until then smile and keep the coloured side up (Icarex joke).
Cheers
First select the general area that your photos will fit. (eg flying, boating etc) then select ‘Create Sub Album’.
Create the album then upload your photos.
Thats it.
Couple more pics from the Buoy Band.
Thankfully the placement of the new permanent buoys all turned out well today. Gerald, Ricky, Justin, Ron, Paul and I positioned the new permanent buoys without any problems. A number of that crew brought their boats along to try it out when we had finished and the consensus was that it is a success. Don’s timing was immaculate, turning up just in time for coffee and a sail afterwards
The moveable start buoy seemed to work well and is pretty close to its ideal positioning. There may be a need to tweak the positions later on once we know if that is required. Doing so it pretty painless and should only take a few minutes with the dinghy.
Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement, now let’s get sailing!! ⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
Oh stop it now, you are cracking me up!!
Looks like a good project Mike. Was there a weight difference (ex water) between yours and Ricky’s?
Results from RBRYC visit to Puddleduck by Kyle Stewart
The weather stayed mild all morning & the breeze held to give 5 sailors an enjoyable day out.
Handicap system worked well & we got some variety into the course when the wind swung more NW after morning coffee.
It was great to have RBRYC at Puddleduck so please come again.
Well done to Col Johnson, sailing a very consistent day – home ground advantage? A decisive winner, with Phil Turnbull in second, just ahead of Wayne Turner.
Many thanks to Col & also Chris Wood who took over PRO duties.
