Ah yes my little green friend, twas a fine morning of sailing if I do say so myself, & the BBQ lunch was to die for (as always)
Nice one, certainly another great day of flying, even with the few minor mishaps.
Ian, yes there are often numerous replies with the same heading BECAUSE they are individual replies to the same Forum post. If you open them to read you will see who posted them. Also simply checking the date associated with the Reply will show if they are new from the last time you were on line.
As I explained a short while ago (evidently not very well) there are TWO columns under the Forum Topic
1) The left hand column labelled “Recent Posts” is a chronological listing of the last few actual posts regardless of topic. These can be replied to.
2) the right hand column labelled “Recent Replies” are recent replies in chronological order and they may be to recent posts or historical posts that someone has updated/added information to etc. These CANNOT be replied to directly, they are just a read only indicator of Forum activity.
The easiest way to reply when you are reading the “Recent Replies” is to click the last entry in RED before the Reply To: in the logical address that is shown near the top of each web page as per example below. This will take you to the actual post that the reply is part of, whether recent or historic. Then you can scroll down and use the Reply option on any of the items (these are indented directly under the item you are replying to (usually) or scroll past the last reply and create a reply at the bottom of the post.
Hope this resolves this issue of how to reply to Forum Posts, especially ones not visible in “Recent Posts”
Also, if you look at the Forums List at the top of the page when first entering “Forum” it is relatively self explanatory where you need to navigate to to find a particular Forum Post or create a Brand New Post from scratch.
Nice bit of video there Chris, especially from the Drifter up over the hill.
This is the last of the videos from our Mini Fly-In on Monday
This time its bits & pieces from my GoPro 3 “HatCam”
Yes, plenty of room out there. Chris had an idea about the power lines, park under them as no one flies close to the cars!!.
The line was fairly close to where we were flying from today so its easy to see, probably easier than the ones running along RRRoad & no one (well perhaps Ian) has hit them .
Today’s videos are now posted.
Gee, a flyaway. I thought they were a thing of the distant past. Apparently not!!
Yes, its all there but rather confusing. I think I’ll stick to the first one. Plain & simple, just like me!!
It was such a lovely Autumn day today I figured it was time to finish the hull painting & then do the tidy up/polish etc when the weather turns nasty again.
Three double header coats of Jet Black Acrylic Lacquer for the area below the waterline & the “Badger” is looking like her namesake again.
Now onto all the handrails while the lacquer hardens up ready for buffing.
Excellent, thanks Col. Even I could understand it, now just to remember it.
This should be mandatory viewing by all our skippers, a bit like social distancing MANDATORY.
It’s been some little while since any work was done on the “Badger”, in fact just checking back on the last post & it was October 20 when I undercoated the hull.
Today, almost 7 months later, the antique white top coat finally got applied to the hull & cabin top. I chose Antique White as I think it better matches with the age of the vessel & the stained timber work than what Brilliant White (as used on the 10R “BattleAxe” and the IOM “Wedgie”) would. I just took the cabin top to the Spektrum Paints & they did a top class job matching the colour.
I’ll give them a couple of days (or is that perhaps weeks/months) to harden & then after a quick tidy up around the deck trim, cut and polish and add the underwater black area (to match the original design)
While waiting all the stanchions will need to be sanded & sprayed ready for refitting as soon as the hull is completed.

The advent on our screens of this new group Green Frog Productions shows that there are artists in our midst that reveal creative talent of a high level. The principal character Kermit, hides behind that compact frame and those dreamy blue eyes, (so unusual in his species) a steeliness of purpose and such a high level of accuracy in the feats performed, that shall surely lead to many more performances of a similarly high standard. Bravo Kermit!
Cheers, Ian Rex Imperator, (in abeyance)
Ah I see, so just like the sailing and flying reports, it’s the frogs eye version of the truth and that is all that needs to be said eh?
If we are not flying & there are less than 10 participants, I will wander along as well with a couple of yachts & thermos of tea to keep warm.
