Well you may have had all those non dietary produces to eat @ the BBQ lunch but we got fish.
This was our collection of size fish @ lunch time ( biggest 450mm – smallest 325mm). Ended up with 18 total by knockoff time of 14:00.
Yes, thanks to all those on the working bee, sorry I couldn’t assist but unfortunately I’m still a “walking wounded”. Hopefully will make it to sailing on Tuesday.
Only if you buy it yourself!!
Yes Kermit, the way the forum reports the latest posts is less than optimal and does make it easy to miss new topics or replies,
I’m sure it will be rectified soon.
I’m afraid I must agree with Kermit that its getting looking like getting way too complicated, the Risdon sailors will love the rules (and there is nothing wrong with that) but that is what you may well be heading for, Risdon at another venue, just like Montrose.
Rules or lack thereof never hindered fun sailing @ Lauderdale, DSS, Cygnet, Franklin, Kellevie & I’m sure the list goes on. These sites are just guys & gals enjoying the hobby of RC sailing without all the baggage, just for fun.
If you had stopped at Rule 1 then that would have been a good starting point. Wait till all the NON sailors fully understand and comply with that one then if absolutely necessary introduce another and so on.
Suits some, probably not others.
Just my 2 bobs worth.
Note: I will be off line till next Monday so no doubt will have plenty of hot discussion to catch up with then.
Baby wipes are fine for your shiny butt, but NO GOOD for cleaning the Vinyl Cutter cutting mat as they contain oil which destroys the tack.
Another fine day of racing @ the Duck. Thanks to our hosts and all involved.
Even though I missed the first half hour the DF95 set up school was definitely a worthwhile exercise and even though the winds weren’t kind you could easily see that all the boats (after tuning) were performing to a similar standard.
Well done Col, and thanks.
Interesting video but personally I think you are better off with 4 x AA LSD NiMh rechargeable batteries that will give good runtime and don’t require any mods to the radio at all and you can still replace the NiMh with 4 x standard AA batteries if you inadvertently get caught with a flat battery when sailing.
Experience has shown that decent NiMh AA cells will significantly outlast LiFe batteries when looked at whole of life use.
Only if it gets to 38deg again !!
Walking the plank could be an option!!
Actually Kermit, that is a very good idea. (I was thinking along the same lines this morning – check under Calendar event)
This was posted by Kermit (I just relocated it for him)
This is addressed to Longtall and Predator but others will be interested I’m sure. DOODS in reference to Longtall’s proposed sail configurations for the 95 and 65 for all our boat sailing on the pond to be in uniform except for sail material there isn’t a lot out there about the set up for the sails for A+ I believe if the SESSION WAS FILMED by the one and only Predator showing the set up for both boats that would be the bees knees. Some of us old farts forget so a reference to come back to is the logical way to go. There is a another plus in this and that is both Longtall and Pred are film video experts who know how to to do it so gentleman what’s your thoughts who wants to be the next Whineberger ….. opps .. not him Clint Eastwood
Video is now up for your viewing pleasure
Mike
With regard to the Brother Design n Print Vinyl cutter, I found this handy hint online, tried it out today and it works a treat.
A lot of materials stick too well to the cutter mat and when you remove them often backing material remains which creates an uneven cutting surface and reduces the tackiness until eventually your material won’t stay in place.
The trick is to clean the surface with “Wet Ones” but you must use the #18 Antibacterial hand & face wipes and definitely NOT baby wipes (which contain baby oil which destroys the tackiness).
The antibacterial wipes quickly & easily remove all the debris from the cutting mat WITHOUT destroying the tacky surface, just clean & let dry and the tackiness returns.
There are numerous other suggestions online regarding what to clean your cutting mats with but most state that after cleaning all the tackiness is gone and you need to re tack with glue stick or similar.
I have only cleaned my mat twice so far but there is little or no difference to the tackiness using the antibacterial “Wet Ones” hand & face wipes.
Will update if anything changes down the track.
Looking good but will it float once you get several middle aged and slightly rotund skippers on it, or perhaps you have a one man, one boat load limit?
Looking at your tag line, it looks like blue, purple, orange & of course green will need to be the NEW sail colours for membership of this VERY EXCLUSIVE Gentlemens Club eh?
