Thanks Gerald, still a lot to learn but slowly getting there. Pretty impressed with how it works and the best part is you can completely ignore it when actually sailing, all done in post production.
I may have another go at editing the footage again tomorrow now I have learned a bit more.
Another nice video Chris, the water always looks warm & inviting.
Back to our usual Flying field next week as its finally drying out & Greg is happy for us to return.
I think Insta 360 was one I looked at originally, I guess the x2 is a newer version so I’ll have another look.
Im guessing when set up correctly it negates the need for a pan camera. Be good on the yachts.
A couple of fine videos Mr Sinker, especially onboard Sinker 2. Those few extra added bits make it even more realistic.
Love the video from the 360 cam.
I have been a finger press away from buying one several times in the past but there are so many to chose from and the results from a few of them leave a lot to be desired. I guess these days its all down to what video editor you use with them.
Very nice Ron, that should fix the over runs quite nicely.
Sounds like a plan. Better charge some batteries & the camera then.
Could be a little while yet, after all its taken 9 years to get this far!!
Couple of nice flights there Kermit, a bit close to the trees sometimes though but where was my invite? At the very least I could have videoed for you.
Perhaps tomorrow instead of sailing?
Thanks Ian, well you know me, always on the lookout for something a bit different
After yesterday’s successful (albeit very short) flight, thought I better install the Prop Support upgrade as suggested by the manufacturer.
Couldn’t find any of the fibreglass support upgrades on line anywhere so nothing else to do but design & 3D print them.
This is the factory version
and this is my 3D design which I think is pretty close (well it fits OK anyway).

Installed
Also replaced the blade fixing screws with a slightly longer version for better fixing.
Thanks Chris, even this one is quite noisy in VTOL mode due to the tail mounted EDF. When that shuts down in normal flight it’s reasonably quiet due to the low kv main motors and big props.
I think it’s now set up correctly so it should be all ready for it’s first real flight.
Something different anyway.
Looking good Gerald. It’s all the little details that really finish off the model.
The SLA 3D printer does a great job of the fine detail thats for sure.
Another mighty fine report this week Admiral.
Hopefully the weather will be warming soon & I shall return on a regular basis to the Duck.
Yes Ron, it got a bit close at one stage but between the clothes line, the garden shed, sun-deck & car there is not a lot of clear air in our backyard.
That’s why I thought I better pack it away while the going was good. Thanks my little green friend, I’ll come and visit next time you are flying there and it’s not raining
