Absolutely perfect Shorty, there should be more of it.
Sounds like a fine day was had by all that attended. I was close to coming along today but it was white & very chilly up here this morning so I gave it a miss.
Turned out to be a nice day & with only a few short weeks to Daylight Saving again I’m hoping the weather will start to warm up.
That’s no good at all. we were looking forward to seeing you & your A down at the Canal.
Oh well it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one to do such silly things.
Well Shorty, at least your mistake got you posting on the website and you did a fine job adding your updated score sheet. Well done.
Now all you need to do is remember your password for next fortnight and you will be able to do the whole lot yourself.
G’day Chris, the Duck Pond looks a bit tight for flying, especially with all the trees around, the rice paddies look OK though.
Very nice Kermit, worth the wait. Definitely far better in Full HD.
At least your shotgun mic and deadcat windsock works well.
I have a Rode VideoMini mic (with deadcat cover) on order. Hope it works as well to get rid of the wind noise.
17 July 2022 at 14:23 in reply to: Predators A Class – Wizzle Wozzle build (a very, very long process) #11603Thanks Ron, needs a little bit of fine tuning before the next outing but overall pretty happy.
As for carrying it, no use getting old if you don’t get cunning!
G’day Tug, yes I’m pretty happy with the way she turned out and real pleased with the way she sails.
Just need to wait for the warmer weather & get the hull painted and she will be all done.
10 July 2022 at 15:56 in reply to: Predators A Class – Wizzle Wozzle build (a very, very long process) #11581The Wizzle Wozzle did not get its maiden on Saturday, the weather was crap so I stayed home and finished off a few more bits & pieces on the boat.
Spent a fair bit of time cleaning up the old sails & getting the old numbers off. They didn’t turn out too bad & now have my personal sailing number displayed.
Also drilled both the booms & fitted adjusters for the sheets, this system is the same as my N12 and makes it very easy to rig & derig the boat, also remembered to seal the hatch ring to the deck.
Thought I better install a bow bumper as well.
Also changed the stern labelling again (3rd time), its all got to come off again this summer when I spray the hull but at least I now have the templates the way I want them.
GoPro camera mount is on and the “Kristy-Lee” is ready to hit the water.
Note to self: don’t forget to weigh everything and make up the ballast weight (probably needs around another 4 kg for compliance).
9 July 2022 at 18:44 in reply to: SAILING ONCE AGAIN at the CANAL without the wheel chair mob #11578Yes not up to my usual performance but I have been on a bit of a roll with the Wizzle Wozzle (after 5 years) so that’s taken priority this week.
Well that’s my excuse anyway.
9 July 2022 at 16:56 in reply to: SAILING ONCE AGAIN at the CANAL without the wheel chair mob #11575Unfortunately I didn’t make it to the canal today which was a bummer as I was hoping to maiden the new A Class.
Here is the video from last Saturday when I did turn up.
7 July 2022 at 12:30 in reply to: Predators A Class – Wizzle Wozzle build (a very, very long process) #11573Lucky me, the second order from the Radio Sailing Shop arrived today ( only two days since I ordered) so the rigging can now be completed without jury rigging to get in the water this weekend

Just hope I ordered all that’s needed6 July 2022 at 17:16 in reply to: Predators A Class – Wizzle Wozzle build (a very, very long process) #11553After 6 coats of Spar Varnish the deck is now looking good.
Got all the fittings reinstalled today so apart from painting the hull (not until the warmer weather) the hull is now finished.
Signage is only temporary & will need to be done properly after the hull is finally painted so at the moment I’m just playing around with how I want it to look. Easier now than risk damaging the paint when new.
According to my records (and photos) it was the end of Feb 2016 when I started this project, it was worked on up until November 2017 and then deserted until 6th June 2022 but now on the 6th July the hull is finished and with a bit of luck and a lot of jury rigging (waiting for another order from the Radio Sailing Shop to update the rigging) and of course a decent day, the Kristy-Lee (RA Class Wizzle Wozzle design from the early 2000’s) should finally be in the water this Saturday.
Congratulations Gerald
