Another quality production from Toad Hall, well done Kermit & well deserving of the Golden Moose award so rightly bestowed upon you.
It’s amazing how much good video you can capture when not flying, and the best of all, no repairs to do when you get home.
After its rather untimely demise a few weeks ago the mighty BumbleBee is now repaired & ready to take to the skies again. The wing was broken in 4 places and the fuselage also broken in two.
After a lot of “Gorilla Glue” (the foaming variety) and some fibreglass epoxy & matting she is now stronger than when I first received it & only very slightly heavier so here’s hoping.
If no good I may buy an Excalibur V-Tail kit glider & transfer the electronics over to that.
Nice video Kermit, may not have been liked by the Judge but I thought it was another fine production from Toad Hall Productions that captured the essence of another perfect day in Paradise !!
Gee Chris, that video was so smooth, just like butter. Pity about the final landing though. At least you missed the fence.
Oh, by the way I found your missile from the Jet (well the missile nose cone).

Gee, I think I’ll stick to playing with the eagles, at least they play fair, those tag team plovers were hell bent on ripping off your rudder, as they did it Andrew’s glider.

The recently acquired Sonic Modell AR Wing is now all set up and ready for her maiden flight (Tuesday or Wednesday hopefully). I’ve removed the GoPro 9 and installed the Runcam 2 & a bit of ballast lead for the first few flights. Once I’m happy that it is flying as it should the GoPro 9 will be reinstalled.
At the moment it has a Hobby Eagle A3-V2 stabiliser fitted (no RTH) but I have a ZOHD Kopilot on its way from the USA that will most likely end up in the wing if it flies OK.
Also have a F411-WSE iNav on order so there are a couple of choices. This is what’s installed in the S800 Sky Shadow.
Not sure when we’ll get a decent flying day next but at least the repairs to the BumbleBee are almost completed. The wing that was broken into about 6 pieces is all back together & fibreglass reinforced, now just need to complete a minor repair to the fuselage and fit the new folding prop when it turns up.
My Sonic Modell AR Wing, recently purchased from QLD arrived today. It has been assembled & fitted out and is ready to fly.
Not a lot of difference wing size wise 900mm vs 820mm but it sure has a lot more room inside when compared to the S800 Sky Shadow. Will be interesting to see how she flies.
My contribution from today. Its still a bit long @ 20 minutes but with over 1 – 1/2 hours of video (one hour onboard & 1/2 hour HandiCam) & five rescues there is only so much to leave on the cutting floor.
That’s my excuse anyway.
