Hmmmm…. There may not be any flying in the short term as there are rumours abound regarding an impending lock down. Premier making an announcement at 2:30 pm.
Well, happy birthday Mike.
I hope I get to see it’s first flight.
My other daughter and her husband are visiting from Bundaberg arriving tomorrow for 10 days so I have taken a bit of leave. Hopefully we will have some good wether and they are keen to come out flying and sailing while they are here. 🙂
Transcribed figures from the score sheet. Congragulations to:
1st Place – Graeme
2nd Place – Trouty
3rd Place – Stuart
Thank you Uncle G.
Sunday was going to be my painting day as I completed the Spitfire Saturday evening but couldn’t resist taking it out for it’s first fly Sunday.
If it didn’t work out, I wouldn’t have needed to paint it! 🙂
Congratulations Kermit on the Moose award. Very good compilation of video indeed 🙂
For anyone interested, here are some links to to the Spitfire review and build video including plans.
I found that using carbon paper to trace the plans onto the foamboard worked well and you can then reuse the plans when you need to rebuild 🙂Spitfire review (watch for the footage of someone loosing their motor pod because they didn’t secure it properly with the bbq skewers!)
Build videw with link to plans
Thanks for looking into it Mike.
We have passed that plane many times on our trips to Mathinna.
I have always wodered what the story was about it.
Thank you Uncle G. Much better than a wobbly hat cam video 👍
Race 1 hat cam video
Probably worse 🙁
Cardboard is the new foam and it’s a lot cheaper 🙂
Nice job Kermit. I like the assistant you have in the first photo 🙂
This is the best video ever. Well done Rian. Some excellent drone flying skills there.
Good job on the audio dubbing Chris. Really good choice of music.
I reckon this video should get the Moose award.
Here is the onboard footage from the ZOHD Dart XL Extreme using Runcam Split 3 camera:
Thanks for uploading the scoresheet Mike.
I wish I had taken my hat cam as the wind conditions made for some really nice sailing.
Thanks everyone for the comments. Good point Predator, I can’t wait to fly it again to see what it looks like in the air 🙂
That is a great solution regarding the clear polyurethane Moose.
I also noticed that the blue over green changed colour and I was wondering how to get around that?
Maybe a layer of white and then the blue?
I sort of cheated with the circles and used a template. I didn’t think my hand would be steady or accurate enought to paint a circle. The blue and red colour was vibrant on the white template.
I sort of wish I had done art in school now 🙁
