Why no proper seaplanes (that actually fly) with all that water in the pond? I agree with Gerald, ditch the plastic dome on the TechPod. See if the extra drag is worth it for decent footage. Is it all matt black inside the dome? If white foam that will add to the glare.
On the mini Fox I added 2 inch clear packing tape on the leading edge of the wing from the spar fwd on top and bottom of wing. ts an easy way to stiffen the wing. But it looks like the wing joiner you have is insufficient on the Techpod. Try the tape but if it still flexes like that then you need to beef up the joiner with piano wire or some other means.
Did Kermit have the prop on the wrong way again on his seaplane? Hope to see more seaplane and airboat action. Nice footage from the Techpod. We have bought a 2 bedroom apartment in Subic Philippines and enjoying sailing. It looks like the NE trade winds will be ending on the weekend and the SW monsoon winds starts. So all the sailboats down south will be able return to Subic soon.
Bye Bye Moose, thank you Kermit for keeping us updated. 🙁
Here is my mavic mini footage of the diving expedition. Boat is about 56 feet long. Maybe this should be posted in a boat thread!
Looked like a nice flying day. Im still busy boating in Philippines. Just came back from 8 days on a dive boat spearfishing with my friend who is a retired US Navy SEAL. I can dive to 20 feet but he went down to 170 feet for tasty fish that tasted like trevalla. Here is brief underwater footage. I have a drone video coming as soon as I get good internet.
Moose please get better soon. Mike and Andrew messaged me. Kermit, any update?
Im in the running for the GMA Best Foreign film category. Yes too many motor bikes, boats etc. Im getting a Yamaha 155 scooter for short trips. Got a Chevvy SUV for longer trips. Am about to sell my X Trail in case anyone wants a car that can fit in a lot of models!
Remember me? That plane looks like a Wilga. I just got back from a 2 day sail in a friends 38ft sloop. Flew my Mavic Mini from the boat whilst at anchor. It was hot so Im not wearing much, so be warned.
24 February 2022 at 14:32 in reply to: Flying at Driftwood Beach Barretto Zambales Philippines #10488The line is to give a safe swimming area by keeping the jetskis away. No big sharks here. Dont think there has been a fatality since WW2. I swim and snorkel and worse is sea lice which are baby jellyfish but you hardly notice the sting and no mark.
I will put in a new thread an update soon.
I like the droop nose fun cub, just like the Concord. I havent been able to fly my drone from my apartment or boat as too close to a small airport and DJI wont ley me take off.
Hope to see more footage. We are safely in Subic Bay Philippines with my boat and I bought a Chevrolet SUV to get around. My pics go on facebook so your brother John sees them.
Kermit, did you forget to take the lens cap off?
